As we say goodbye
he steps back and forth off the kerb
and again
I want to step forward for a kiss
but we don't

Taking the baby for a walk

Grandma brings him for a walk.
He jiggles enthusiastically on the curb
but he just wants to stand and watch the cars.
They seem to take it in turns;
later he's there again with mum.

I miss the snails, sparrows and squirrels
