I lean against the wall, sheltering,
and the warmth the bricks had absorbed that morning seeps into my back
as the rain pelts the road

not kiss
As we say goodbye
he steps back and forth off the kerb
and again
I want to step forward for a kiss
but we don't

and again
I want to step forward for a kiss
but we don't

Taking the baby for a walk
Grandma brings him for a walk.
He jiggles enthusiastically on the curb
but he just wants to stand and watch the cars.
They seem to take it in turns;
later he's there again with mum.

Not the Floop
Dodging broken glass on the bike
down Hart Road
I miss the snails, sparrows and squirrels

CV19 Princess Road
Normally choked with cars and fumes
I wander as I cross
and saunter
down the empty carriageway

CV19 - walking
twice around the park
not much to say
but we check on the heron's nest
and the drug dealer's bench

blackberries
Early blackberries dangle overhead down Essex Avenue,
I eat them greedily,
some are sweet and juicy, others so sharp they make my tongue curl.

Bears
Students come to the door, blanketed and grumpy,
Like bears disturbed early from their hibernation.
